On Dec. 9, 2025, Advanced Healthcare Professionals, a Texas-based provider of personal care attendant services, reported a significant data breach. The cybersecurity event exposed personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information of at least 1,800 Texans.

The breach exposed a wide range of sensitive personal and health information, including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, government-issued ID numbers (such as passport or state ID cards), dates of birth, medical information and health insurance information.

This combination PII and PHI increases the potential risks for those affected. While the specific method of the breach and the identity of the perpetrator were not disclosed in the public filing, the nature and scope of the compromised data make this a particularly serious incident.

The company notified the Texas Attorney General's office about the data breach on Dec. 9, 2025.

Advanced Healthcare Professionals' response

Advanced Healthcare Professionals notified affected individuals directly, as required under Texas law. Although the company has not publicly detailed the specific steps taken in response to the breach, individuals whose information was involved should remain vigilant.

Because Social Security numbers, government-issued IDs and health information were exposed, those affected are encouraged to:

  • Monitor their credit reports for any suspicious activity
  • Consider placing a fraud alert or credit freeze with major credit bureaus
  • Watch for signs of medical identity theft, such as unfamiliar medical bills or insurance claims
  • Be cautious of phishing attempts or unsolicited communications referencing the breach

If affected, individuals may want to contact the company directly for further details about support resources or identity theft protection services.
