V Shred LLC $4 Million Data Privacy Settlement

Consumers who purchased products or services from V Shred LLC or its affiliates or participated in its online quiz between Jan. 1, 2022, and May 13, 2025, may qualify to claim up to $10 from a class action settlement.

V Shred agreed to pay $4,000,000 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it disclosed users’ personally identifiable information to third parties without consent and in violation of state and federal privacy laws.

Who is eligible for a V Shred payout?

Class members must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• They purchased products or services from V Shred or its affiliate channels, including SculptNation and Amazon, between Jan. 1, 2022, and May 13, 2025.
• They participated in V Shred’s online quiz on www.vshred.com during the same period.

How much is the data privacy payout?

Eligible class members can claim a cash payment of up to $10. The actual amount each person receives depends on the total number of valid claims submitted, as well as settlement fees and costs.

How to claim a V Shred class action rebate

Class members can file a claim online or download, print, complete and mail the PDF claim form v1.pdf) to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is Aug. 11, 2025.

Proof and information required

• All claimants must provide proof of a third-party account (such as Facebook, X, TikTok, Snap or Google) by uploading a screenshot of their profile. The screenshot must show the account belongs to the claimant and matches the name provided on the claim form.
• Online claimants must provide the class member ID found on their settlement notice. Those who no longer have their class member ID or notice should contact the settlement administrator.

Payout options

Eligible class members can choose from the following payment options:

• PayPal (online claims only)
• Venmo (online claims only)
• Paper check mailed to the address provided

$4 million data sharing settlement fund breakdown

The $4,000,000 settlement fund includes:

• Settlement administration costs: To be determined
• Attorneys' fees: Up to $1,333,333.33
• Service awards to class representatives: Up to $5,000 each ($10,000 total)
• Payments to eligible class members: Remainder of the fund

When is the V Shred settlement payout date?

Payments to approved claimants will be made approximately 40 days after the settlement receives final approval and any appeals are resolved.

Why did this class action settlement happen?

The class acton lawsuit alleged V Shred LLC violated privacy laws by disclosing users’ personally identifiable information to third parties without consent. The plaintiffs claimed this violates the Florida Security of Communications Act, the California Invasion of Privacy Act and the Video Privacy Protection Act.

V Shred denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the risks and costs of further litigation.
