Individuals who received a notice that their private information may have been impacted by the TRC Staffing Services data breach that occurred between March 25, 2024, and April 12, 2024, may qualify to claim up to $5,080 from a class action settlement. The cybersecurity incident involved more than 158,593 people.
TRC Staffing Services Inc. d/b/a TRC Talent Solutions agreed to pay $1.7 million to settle a class action lawsuit. The complaint alleges the company was negligent, breached implied contracts, was unjustly enriched and violated Georgia statutes after a data incident that may have exposed personal and health information, including names and Social Security numbers.
Who can file a claim for a data breach payout?
Class members are United States residents who received a notice letter from TRC Staffing Services notifying them that the data breach that occurred from on or about March 25, 2024, through on or about April 12, 2024, may have compromised their data.
How much are settlement payments?
Class members have the following benefit options:
- Documented monetary losses and/or lost time: Class members can claim up to $5,000 for documented out-of-pocket expenses related to the data breach plus up to four hours of lost time spent responding to the incident at $20 per hour ($80 maximum).
- Monetary losses may include costs for credit monitoring, identity theft protection or accessing/freezing/unfreezing credit reports that occurred after March 25, 2024; expenses, losses or charges due to identity theft, fraud, falsified tax returns or other misuse of personal information; and other miscellaneous expenses.
- Alternative pro rata cash payment: Class members who do not submit a monetary losses and/or lost time claim can submit a claim to receive a pro rata cash payment of up to $200. The settlement administrator will determine the final payment amount by the total number of claims filed.
How to claim a class action rebate
To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print and complete the PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator.

Required proof and claim information
- To submit a claim online or by mail, class members must provide the class member ID from the settlement notice they received.
- To submit a monetary losses claim, class members must provide third-party documentation, which may include receipts, invoices, bank or credit card statements, and other proof of identity theft or fraud.
- To submit a lost time claim, class members must provide a description of how they spent time responding to the data breach.

When is the TRC Staffing Services data breach settlement payout date?

Why is there a class action settlement?
The class action lawsuit claimed TRC Staffing Services Inc. experienced a data breach in April 2024 that may have exposed the personal and health information of thousands of individuals. The plaintiffs alleged the company failed to adequately protect this information and prevent unauthorized access.
TRC Staffing Services denies the allegations but agreed to settle the case to avoid further litigation expense and uncertainty.
