The New York State Office of the Attorney General investigated the company and determined it denied unionized employees paid sick leave during the specified period.
Who can file a claim?
Individuals must meet all of the following criteria:
- Southerntier Custom Fabricators Inc. employed them at any time between Sept. 30, 2020, and April 30, 2022.
- They were a member of the Local 112 or Local 58 unions during that period.
- They received a notice containing a unique ID and PIN.
How much is the Southerntier payout?
The total settlement fund is $148,252.47. The settlement administrator will distribute the entire amount to eligible class members who submit valid claims. The specific amount each individual will receive depends on the number of valid claims submitted and the amount of paid sick leave Southerntier denied them.
The settlement administrator will deduct applicable income taxes from each payment and mail tax forms to class members at a later date.

Class members can submit the online claim form or complete the paper claim form included with their settlement notice and mail it in the provided self-addressed, postage-paid envelope to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is March 31, 2026.
