Individuals who made a parking reservation through SpotHero using the map view option while in California between July 1, 2024, and March 13, 2025, may be eligible to claim a cash payment or credit voucher from a class action settlement.
SpotHero Inc. agreed to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging it violated California law by failing to show the full price of a parking reservation, including service fees, on its website and mobile app until near the end of the checkout process. The lawsuit claimed this practice, known as “drip pricing,” violated several laws.
Who can file a claim?
Class members must meet all of the following criteria:
- They purchased at least one parking reservation through SpotHero’s website (www.spothero.com) or mobile application.
- They purchased the reservation between July 1, 2024, and March 13, 2025.
- They were physically located in California at the time of purchase.
- They used the map view option to search for the parking spot.
How much can class members get?
The settlement provides $975,000 for eligible class members as either a cash payment or credit voucher.
The settlement administrator will calculate each class member’s share by dividing the total service fees they paid by the total service fees all class members paid then multiplying by the $975,000 settlement fund.
The average expected benefit is approximately $4.76 per class member.
Cash payment: Class members who submit a valid claim form will receive their settlement benefit as a cash payment by check or electronic payment.
Credit voucher: Class members who do not submit a valid claim will automatically receive a credit voucher in their SpotHero wallet. They can use the voucher for any SpotHero purchase, including fees and taxes. It is valid for 36 months.

Class members can file a claim online or download and print the PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator.

What proof or documentation required to submit a claim?
To file an online claim, class members must provide the notice ID and confirmation code from the personalized notice they received via email.
