Why is there a class action settlement?
The EEOC filed a lawsuit against Security Engineers Inc., alleging it discriminated against female applicants for security officer positions in Alabama from March 1, 2017, to March 10, 2025. The EEOC claimed that Security Engineers Inc. failed to hire qualified women for these roles because of their sex.
The company agreed to settle the lawsuit to resolve these allegations and to avoid further litigation. The settlement also requires Security Engineers Inc. to make significant changes to its hiring practices to prevent future discrimination.
