
Current and former employees and other individuals in the United States whose personal information the June 2024 M&R Printing Equipment data breach compromised may qualify to submit a claim for up to $7,080 from a class action settlement.
M&R Printing Equipment Inc. agreed to settle a class action lawsuit stemming from a targeted cyberattack in June 2024. The plaintiff claimed a threat actor breached the company’s computer systems, resulting in unauthorized access to files containing personal information, such as names, Social Security numbers and credit card numbers.
Who can file a claim for a data breach payout?
Class members are individuals residing in the United States whose personally identifiable information the data breach M&R Printing Equipment Inc. discovered in June 2024 compromised. This includes anyone who received notice of the cybersecurity incident from M&R.
How much will settlement payments be?
Class members have the following benefit options:
- Ordinary losses: Class members can claim up to $2,000 in documented out-of-pocket expenses traceable to the data breach. This includes credit monitoring fees, fees for freezing and unfreezing credit, cost to replace government issued IDs and postage to contact financial institutions by mail.
- Extraordinary losses: Class members can claim up to $5,000 in documented financial losses that occurred due to identity theft or fraud and are traceable to the data breach.
- Lost time: Class members can claim up to four hours of time spent dealing with the data breach at $20 per hour for a maximum of $80. This includes time spent changing passwords, investigating suspicious activity or researching the incident.
- Alternative cash payment: Class members who do not claim credit monitoring, ordinary losses, extraordinary losses or lost time can submit a claim to receive a one-time $50 cash payment.
- Credit monitoring: Class members can elect to receive two years of CyEx Financial Shield Total credit monitoring services. This includes monitoring for fraud, identity theft, unauthorized transactions and high-risk transactions and $1 million in financial fraud insurance.

To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online print the PDF claim form to complete and mail or email it to the settlement administrator.

Is proof/documentation required to submit a claim?
- Online claims require the unique ID and PIN located on the settlement notice.
- Ordinary losses claims require supporting documentation, which may include receipts, bank statements or other proof showing out-of-pocket expenses related to the breach.
- Extraordinary losses claims require supporting documentation, which may include police reports, bank or credit card statements showing unreimbursed fraudulent charges, insurance correspondence and other proof of identity theft or fraud.
- Lost time claims require a brief written description of the time spent dealing with the data breach.

When is the M&R Printing Equipment settlement payout date?
