Individuals residing in the United States who had their personal information compromised in the Motility Software Solutions data breach in August 2025, may qualify to submit a claim for up to $5,000 and free credit monitoring from a class action settlement.  The information potentially exposed includes names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and other personal details belonging to approximately 760,797 people.

Motility Software Solutions Inc., a company that provides dealer management software to specialty vehicle dealerships, has agreed to pay $4.95 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging that the company failed to adequately protect private information. The plaintiffs claimed this led to a cybersecurity incident where sensitive data may have been accessed by unauthorized parties.

How much are settlement payments?

Class members have the following benefit options:

  • Cash payment A - Documented losses: Class members can claim up to $5,000 in documented, unreimbursed losses caused by fraud or identity theft traceable to the data breach.
  • Cash payment B - Alternate cash payment: Class members who do not submit a documented losses claim can submit to receive an alternate cash payment, estimated at $75. Final payment amount will be determined by the number of claims filed.
  • Credit monitoring: All class members can elect to receive two years of free credit monitoring.
