L&B Transport, LLC has agreed to pay $220,000 to settle a class action lawsuit for alleged negligence and breach of contractual and statutory duties following a data incident that potentially exposed sensitive personal information, including names, Social Security numbers, and driver’s license numbers.

Who is eligible for a data breach payment?

You are a class member if:

  • You reside in the United States and your private information may have been exposed to unauthorized third parties as a result of the data incident allegedly discovered by L&B Transport, LLC in August 2024.
  • You received a notice with a unique Claim Number identifying you as a potential settlement class member.

How much is the class action settlement payout?

The settlement provides two types of compensation for eligible class members:

  • Documented Loss Fund: Class members can submit for reimbursement of up to $5,000. This includes actual out-of-pocket expenses and payment for up to four hours of lost time at $25 per hour.
  • Non-Documented Pour-Over Fund: All class members who submit a valid claim is eligible to receive a pro rata cash payment from the remaining settlement funds after documented loss claims and all other fees and costs are paid. The payment amount will be determined by the number of claims submitted and remaining settlement funds.

How to claim a data breach class action rebate

To receive a settlement payment, class members must submit a claim by the deadline of July 9, 2025. You can file a claim online or print the PDF claim form to complete and mail to the settlement administrator.

$220,000 data breach settlement fund

The settlement fund of $220,000 includes:

  • Settlement administration costs: Not to exceed $15,550
  • Attorneys' fees: Up to $73,326
  • Attorneys' costs: To be presented to court for approval at a later date
  • Service awards for class representative: Up to $5,000
  • Payments to approved claimants: Remaining settlement funds after the above deductions
