Consumers whose personal information was potentially compromised in the Hub International Limited data breach may qualify to claim up to $5,000 from a class action settlement.

Hub International Limited agreed to pay $4.65 million to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to adequately protect personal information, resulting in a data breach between December 2022 and January 2023. The lawsuit claims Hub’s negligent data security practices allowed cybercriminals to access sensitive data and that the company did not properly notify affected individuals.

Who can receive a Hub International payout?

Class members must meet the following criteria:

  • They are a person in the United States.
  • Their personal information was accessed or acquired in the Hub International Limited security incident that occurred between December 2022 and January 2023.
  • They received a data breach notification letter from Hub International Limited regarding the incident.

How much is the data breach payout?

  • Out-of-pocket losses: Up to $5,000 for documented, unreimbursed monetary losses related to the data breach
  • Alternative cash payment: A flat payment of $150. This amount may be adjusted up or down depending on the number of valid claims submitted (pro rata adjustment). Class members who claim out-of-pocket losses cannot also claim the alternative cash payment.
  • Credit monitoring and identity theft protection: Two years of three-bureau credit monitoring and identity theft protection services

How to claim a Hub International class action rebate

Class members can file a claim online or download, print, complete and mail the PDF claim form to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is Sept. 8, 2025.

Required proof and documentation

To claim out-of-pocket losses, class members must provide documentation, such as receipts, bank statements, invoices or other records showing the loss and its connection to data breach. These losses must have occurred between Dec. 1, 2022, and Sept. 8, 2025. Examples of out-of-pocket losses include unreimbursed fraud, credit monitoring or fraud resolution services purchased after the incident, costs of credit reports, bank or financial institution charges and other direct losses relating to the breach.

When is the Hub International settlement payout date?
