Those who purchased or leased a 2017 or 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan built between Jan. 1, 2017, and Dec. 31, 2017, may qualify to claim reimbursement for repair costs or receive warranty benefits from a class action settlement.

FCA US LLC, which owns the Dodge brand, agreed to a settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit. The lawsuit alleged FCA equipped certain Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles with defective rear sliding door lock actuators and/or latches, which could prevent the doors from locking or unlocking.

Who is eligible for a Dodge door lock payout?

Class members must meet the following criteria:

  • Repair Reimbursement: Class members who paid out-of-pocket for repairs related to a failing sliding door lock actuator can submit a claim for reimbursement, which covers the amount they paid for qualifying repairs and is subject to FCA US’s normal extended warranty payment processes.

Why was there a class action settlement?

The class action lawsuit alleged FCA US LLC manufactured and sold Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles with defective rear sliding door lock actuators and/or latches. The plaintiffs claimed that these defects prevented the doors from locking and unlocking, potentially creating inconvenience or safety concerns.

FCA denies any wrongdoing or liability but agreed to settle to avoid the cost, risk and uncertainty of further litigation.
