Galderma Laboratories LP agreed to pay $990,000 to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging it misled consumers about possible benzene contamination in certain Differin acne treatment products.

Who can file a claim?

To be eligible for compensation, individuals must meet the following criteria:

  • They are a natural person (not a business or other entity).
  • They purchased one or more of these products for personal, family or household use (not for resale):

Class members may file only one claim form per household. The settlement administrator will reject multiple claims from the same household.

How much can class members get?

  • With proof of purchase: $9 for each product with no cap on the number of products as long as the class member provides documentation to support each purchase
  • Without proof of purchase: $9 for up to three products for a maximum of $27 based on the claimant’s attestation

If the total amount all class members claim exceeds the net settlement fund (after deductions for fees and costs), the settlement administrator will reduce payments proportionally.
