The class action lawsuit alleged that Google LLC and AdMob Google Inc. collected, used, and disclosed personal information from children under 13 through Google Play apps without parental consent, violating their privacy rights. The plaintiffs claimed this information was used for targeted advertising.

The defendants denied any wrongdoing, but agreed to settle to avoid the risk and expense of continued litigation and a possible trial.
