Colony Ridge $1.99M Unwanted Text Message Settlement

Individuals who received at least two text messages from Colony Ridge Development advertising Terrenos Santa Fe on their personal cell phone between June 27, 2020, and May 7, 2025, may be eligible to submit a claim to receive between $1,000 and $2,000 from a class action settlement.

Colony Ridge Development agreed to pay $1,994,123 to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging it sent nonemergency advertising and marketing text messages promoting Terrenos Santa Fe to consumers without first obtaining written consent. The lawsuit, filed under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, affects an estimated 71,616 individuals nationwide.

Who is eligible for a class action payout?

Class members must meet the following criteria:

• They received more than one text message within a 12-month period from Colony Ridge Development, or its business partners, promoting its goods or services, including Terrenos Santa Fe.
• They registered their cell phone number with the National Do Not Call Registry for at least 30 days before receiving at least two of these text messages within the 12-month period.
• They received the text messages between June 27, 2020, and May 7, 2025.
• Their phone number is part of the list of numbers Colony Ridge identified as potentially affected.

How much s the TCPA settlement payment?

Pro rata cash payment: Each approved claimant will receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. The estimated payment per person ranges from $1,000 to $2,000. The settlement administrator will determine the final payment amount by the number of valid claims.

How to claim a class action rebate

Class members can submit the online claim form or complete the claim form they received with their settlement postcard notice and mail it to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is Dec. 15, 2025.
