
Consumers who received a notification from ASM Global Parent Inc. stating a data security incident detected on Oct. 12, 2023, compromised their personal information may be eligible to claim up to $10,000 plus a pro rata cash payment from a class action settlement.
ASM Global Parent Inc. agreed to pay $1.4 million to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to adequately protect sensitive personal and health information, which threat actors accessed during a cyberattack. The exposed information included names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license or state identification numbers, passport numbers, credit or debit card details, and, in some cases, medical diagnosis and treatment details.
Who is eligible to file a claim?
Class members include residents of the United States whose the private information the ASM data security incident detected on Oct. 12, 2023, compromised.
How much can class members get?
- Out-of-pocket expense reimbursement: Up to $10,000 for documented, unreimbursed monetary losses the data security incident most likely caused. Losses must have occurred between Oct. 10, 2023, and Jan. 2, 2026. Claimants must also show they made reasonable efforts to avoid or seek reimbursement for the loss, such as exhausting available credit monitoring or identity theft insurance.
- Pro rata cash payment: After the settlement administrator pays all valid out-of-pocket claims, administration costs, attorneys’ fees and service awards, it will distribute the remainder of the settlement fund on a pro rata basis to claimants who request this benefit. Each claimant receives one share of the remainder while California residents receive two shares.
How to claim a settlement payment
Class members can submit the online claim form or download, print, complete and mail the PDF claim form to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is Jan. 2, 2026.

What proof or documentation is necessary to file a claim?
- To file a claim, class members must provide the notice ID from the settlement notice they received. To file an online claim, class members must also provide the PIN from the same notice. Those who misplaced or lost their notice should contact the settlement administrator at 844-496-1268 and provide their full name and mailing address.
- To claim reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses, class members must provide documentation showing proof of the loss, evidence the data breach most likely caused the loss and information showing reasonable efforts to recover the loss. Acceptable documentation includes receipts or other records. Self-prepared documents alone (such as handwritten notes) are not sufficient, but class members may submit them to clarify other documentation.
- To claim a pro rata cash payment, class members must certify their eligibility and, if seeking two shares as a California resident, provide a sworn attestation of California residency as of Oct. 12, 2023.

$1.4 million settlement fund breakdown
The $1,400,000 settlement fund covers:
- Settlement administration costs: To be determined
- Attorneys' fees: Up to $350,000
- Attorneys' expenses: Up to $10,000
- Service award to class representative: Up to $3,000
- Payments to eligible class members: Remainder of the fund
If the total amount class members claim for out-of-pocket expenses exceeds the available fund, the settlement administrator will reduce payments proportionally.

When is the ASM Global Parent Inc. data security incident payout date?
The settlement administrator will issue payments for valid claims approximately 60 days after the court grants final approval to the settlement or 30 days after it approves the claim, whichever is later.
Why is there a class action settlement?
The class action lawsuit alleged ASM Global Parent failed to adequately protect the personal and health information of its customers, resulting in a data breach detected on Oct. 12, 2023.
ASM did not admit wrongdoing. Both sides agreed that settlement is in the best interest of affected individuals.
