Why is there a class action settlement?
This class action lawsuit was filed because Adena Health System allegedly used third-party tracking pixels on its website in a way that violated certain privacy laws. The plaintiff claimed that this practice compromised patient privacy and shared protected health information with third-party companies without approval.
Adena Health System denies any wrongdoing, but both sides agreed to settle to avoid the expense and uncertainties of continued litigation.
