What Happened?
On Jan. 31, 2026, Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital discovered a data security incident resulting from a cyberattack. An unauthorized party compromised the hospital’s computer network and information systems.
After learning of the incident, the hospital notified law enforcement, initiated its incident response plan and began an investigation. The hospital has since reinforced its network security and completed a review to determine the extent of unauthorized activity.
The investigation found that sensitive patient information may have been accessed. Notification letters were sent to potentially affected individuals on March 31, 2026.
A total of 257,073 people in the United States were affected, including five in Maine.
