Dohman, Akerlund & Eddy LLC agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to adequately protect private information during a cybersecurity incident. The plaintiff claims unauthorized parties may have accessed files containing sensitive data, such as names, addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers and other personally identifiable or protected health information.

How much are settlement payments?
Class members have the following benefit options:
- Cash payment A - documented losses: Class members can claim up to $5,000 in documented out-of-pocket losses traceable to the data breach that occurred between Feb. 28, 2024, and Sept. 10, 2026. Eligible losses include monetary losses due to identity theft or fraud; fees for credit reports, credit monitoring or freezing/unfreezing credit; costs to replace IDs; and postage from contacting financial institutions. Class members cannot have received reimbursement for the loss through another party, such as identity theft insurance.
- Cash payment B - alternate cash payment: Class members who do not submit a documented losses claim can submit a claim to receive a one-time $50 cash payment.
- Credit monitoring: All class members can elect to receive one year of one-bureau credit monitoring services. This includes real-time credit file monitoring, dark web scanning, comprehensive public records monitoring, $1 million in identity theft insurance and access to fraud resolution agents.

To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print the PDF claim form to complete and mail or email to the settlement administrator.

Required proof and claim information
- To submit a claim online, class members must provide the login ID and PIN from the settlement notice they received.
- Documented losses claims require supporting documentation, which may include receipts, invoices, bank or credit card statements showing unreimbursed fees or fraudulent charges, or other proof of identity theft or fraud.
