What Happened?

On Feb. 21, 2026, Kaplan North America concluded its investigation into an IT security incident.

The company discovered that an unauthorized actor accessed its computer network between Oct. 30, 2025, and Nov. 18, 2025, and took certain files containing sensitive information. Kaplan secured its network, engaged external IT security specialists and notified law enforcement.

Written notification letters were sent to affected individuals starting March 17, 2026.

The breach affected thousands of individuals, including at least 173,676 in Texas, 26,612 in South Carolina, 19,075 in Maine, and 2,045 in Rhode Island.

  • Driver’s license numbers
