According to their notice, the incident occurred between Sept. 20 and Sept. 21, 2025. The SAFEPAY ransomware group claimed responsibility for the attack, posting about it on the dark web on Oct. 24, 2025.
Greenhouse Apartments notified the Maine Attorney General about the breach on March 17, 2026, and began notifying affected consumers in writing on March 13, 2026. In total, 3,473 people in the United States were affected, including six in Maine.
The company has not specified the exact types of information that were exposed in this breach.
