Individuals who received notice from Finastra Technology Inc. that an October 2024 data incident may have compromised their private information could be eligible to claim up to $2,500 plus credit monitoring from a class action settlement.
Finastra Technology agreed to pay $3.13 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging that during a targeted cyberattack in October 2024, unauthorized parties accessed files containing sensitive personal information, including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers and financial account numbers.
Who can file a claim?
Class members include all individuals residing in the United States whose private information the October 2024 data incident at Finastra Technology may have impacted.
How much are settlement payments?
The settlement offers the following benefits:
- Cash payment for documented losses: Class members who experienced actual, documented out-of-pocket losses between Oct. 31, 2024, and Nov. 27, 2026, due to the data incident can claim up to $2,500. Eligible expenses include losses from identity theft or fraud, fees for credit reports or credit monitoring, costs to replace IDs and postage for contacting banks.
- Pro rata cash payment: Individuals who did not have documented losses can claim a one-time pro rata cash payment. The settlement administrator will divide the remaining funds after it pays expenses and other benefits equally among all who claim this payment. The final amount will depend on the number of valid claims.
- Credit monitoring: All class members can claim one year of CyEx Financial Shield Complete, which includes $1 million in financial fraud insurance and monitoring for identity theft, unauthorized transactions and high-risk activity.
