What Happened?
On July 15, 2026, First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union’s insurance partner, TruStage, disclosed a cybersecurity incident that affected its systems.
TruStage, which provides insurance products such as GAP insurance, mechanical repair coverage and payment protection through credit unions like First Commonwealth, detected a cyberattack and proactively shut down its network to contain the threat.
This network shutdown temporarily disrupted some insurance services for credit union members. As of July 17, 2026, TruStage has not confirmed the specific types of personal information that may have been accessed or how many individuals were affected.
The company has stated it will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
