What Happened?
On Aug. 9, 2025, Bimbo Bakeries USA experienced a data breach involving a third-party vendor, Oracle.
The breach was caused by a zero-day vulnerability in Oracle’s E-Business Suite application. After discovering the vulnerability, Bimbo Bakeries USA applied patches and launched an investigation.
It was determined on Dec. 6, 2025, that unauthorized parties had acquired files stored in the Oracle application.
On Aug. 19, 2026, Bimbo Bakeries USA identified that the files involved in the incident contained sensitive personal information. The breach was reported to state authorities on Sept. 4, 2026.
Information Exposed:
- Names
- Social Security numbers
- Financial information (such as account numbers, credit or debit card numbers)
The number of people affected varies by state, with 3,982 in Texas and 363 in Massachusetts. Notices were sent to affected individuals by U.S. mail.
