What happened?
On May 30, 2025, Farmers Insurance was alerted by one of its third-party vendors to suspicious activity involving unauthorized access to a database containing Farmers customer information. Farmers immediately launched an investigation and notified law enforcement.
An investigation determined that the unauthorized access occurred on May 29, 2025, certain data was acquired. By July 24, 2025, it was confirmed that some Farmers Insurance Exchange customer information had been accessed and acquired. Farmers began notifying impacted customers by mail on Aug. 22, 2025.
The data breach affected 1,071,172 individuals.
