What Happened?

Cohen's Fashion Optical experienced a data breach as a result of a ransomware attack by a group known as Sinobi.

The incident was first posted on the dark web on Oct. 28, 2025, where Sinobi claimed to have stolen 350 GB of company data, including financial records, internal contracts and incident documentation. The group threatened to publish the stolen data within eight days.

The type of hacking incident was ransomware, and the stolen information was posted on the tor network.

The breach was officially disclosed to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on Feb. 19, 2026. At least 13 individuals in Massachusetts were reported to be affected.

At this time, the only confirmed information type exposed as a result of this breach is Social Security numbers
