If you were affected by the data breach, your sensitive personally identifiable information may have been exposed, and you may be eligible for compensation.

About BAYADA Home Health Care

BAYADA Home Health Care is a nonprofit provider of home health care services, founded in 1975. In 2018, BAYADA transitioned from a family-owned business to a nonprofit organization.

The company offers a wide range of services, such as nursing care, rehabilitative and therapeutic services, hospice care, assistive and companion care, pediatric home health and behavioral health services. The company operates more than 360 offices across 23 states, employing more than 28,000 health care professionals.

What Happened?

On Dec. 4, 2025, BAYADA Home Health Care was notified by Doctor Alliance, a third-party vendor that facilitates physician signatures on Home Health Certifications and Plans of Care, of a cybersecurity event.

Between Oct. 31 and Nov. 6, 2025, and again between Nov. 14 and 17, 2025, an unauthorized actor accessed Doctor Alliance’s systems. As a result, certain BAYADA client information may have been accessed and/or copied.

BAYADA’s own systems were not affected, but the breach may have exposed sensitive data contained in Home Health Certification and Plan of Care forms.

The company took steps to discontinue use of Doctor Alliance, launched an investigation, and notified affected clients. The company has also disclosed the incident to its website and to the attorneys general offices of New Hampshire and Vermont.

So far, six New Hampshire residents have been affected. The total number of individuals affected across the United States is undisclosed.

  • Enroll in the complimentary credit monitoring and identity restoration services being offered. BAYADA is providing these services through Experian, and affected individuals must enroll by April 30, 2026.
  • Monitor account statements, explanations of benefits and free credit reports for any suspicious activity or errors. Under U.S. law, everyone is entitled to one free credit report annually from each of the three major credit bureaus.
  • Consider placing a fraud alert or credit freeze on credit files. A fraud alert requires businesses to verify identity before extending new credit, while a credit freeze restricts access to credit reports.
  • Report any suspected identity theft to law enforcement and the relevant state attorney general. Filing a police report may be necessary if identity theft occurs.
  • Review the detailed steps provided in the official notice for additional measures to protect personal information.
