What Happened?
In July 2025, Avosina Healthcare Solutions experienced a data breach. On July 29, 2025, the company discovered that an unknown threat actor had compromised parts of its computer system.
The company was able to restore its services using backups, but further investigation revealed that the intruder accessed certain document files and applications of customers belonging to SomnoSleep Consultants. The ransomware group Qilin claimed responsibility for the attack and posted about the breach on the dark web on Aug. 7, 2025.
Avosina Healthcare Solutions notified SomnoSleep Consultants on Sept. 29, 2025, and provided additional information on November 17, 2025.
The breach was disclosed to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Jan. 10, 2026. The breach was disclosed to the offices of the attorneys general of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont between Jan. 12 and Jan. 14, 2026.
The company has also notified impacted patients by mail on Jan. 9, 2026.
The breach has affected 44,425 total individuals, including 43 residents in Massachusetts, 23 residents of Indiana, 16 residents of Maine, and 13 residents of New Hampshire.
