What Happened?

Aura recently experienced a data breach after one of its employees fell victim to a targeted phone phishing attack. On March 11, 2026, a threat actor known as ShinyHunters claimed responsibility for the breach on the dark web, stating that over two million records had been compromised. Aura Group confirmed that an unauthorized third party accessed an employee’s account for about one hour.

The breach allowed the attacker to access approximately 900,000 records, mainly consisting of names and email addresses from a marketing tool acquired by Aura Group in 2017. In addition, contact information for less than 20,000 active customers and less than 15,000 former customers was accessed.
