What Happened?

On March 12, 2026, Adams Health Network, the parent organization of Adams County Memorial Hospital, became aware that an employee’s email account had been compromised in a phishing attack that occurred on Dec. 22, 2026. The hospital immediately took steps to secure the account and prevent further unauthorized access.

An investigation revealed that the compromised email account contained sensitive patient information. The hospital reported the incident to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on May 11, 2026. According to official reports, 5,305 individuals in the United States were affected by this breach.
