On July 29, 2025, S.V.D.P. Management Inc., doing business as Father Joe’s Villages, discovered a data breach. An investigation determined that an unauthorized actor gained access and possibly acquired personal data from the organization's internal network between Sept. 26, 2024, and Oct. 12, 2024.
The cybersecurity incident compromised sensitive personally identifiable information (PII) that could put affected individuals at risk of identity theft or financial fraud. A review determined that exposed data included names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and financial account information.
S.V.D.P. Management began notifying impacted individuals by mail on Aug. 29, 2025. The total number of affected people has not been released, but is believed to include thousands of employees and volunteers.
The company reported the data breach to the California, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Washington and Vermont Attorney Generals' offices between Aug. 26, 2025 and Sept. 3, 2025. Impacted individuals include 3,893 in Washington, 68 Massachusetts residents, 18 Maine residents, 11 in New Hampshire and 19 people in Rhode Island.
Upon discovering the breach, S.V.D.P. Management took action to secure its network, launched an investigation and notified law enforcement. The organization is also offering free IDX credit monitoring and identity restoration services to affected individuals.
