HumanEdge Inc., a staffing and recruiting firm based in White Plains, New York, disclosed a data breach involving sensitive personal information that has so far impacted 1,452 people in Texas, 655 in Massachusetts and 115 in Vermont.

HumanEdge is a full-service staffing company with more than 30 years of experience placing candidates in contract, direct-hire and freelance roles across a range of industries.

The company reported the breach to the California Attorney General on Sept. 2, 2026.

On or about March 18, 2026, HumanEdge detected suspicious activity within its network. The company launched an investigation with the help of cybersecurity experts.

The investigation found that certain files may have been accessed or acquired without authorization in connection with the incident. HumanEdge then conducted a comprehensive review of those files to determine what information was involved and which individuals were affected.

The review process was completed on Aug. 13, 2026.

The types of personal information exposed in the breach included names, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, government-issued identification numbers (such as passports or state ID cards), financial information (such as account numbers or credit and debit card numbers), medical information and health insurance information.

HumanEdge's response to the breach

HumanEdge is offering affected individuals free identity protection services through IDX.

Affected individuals can enroll by visiting the IDX enrollment page and entering the enrollment code included in their notification letter. The deadline to enroll is Dec. 1, 2026.

HumanEdge has also set up a dedicated call center for people who have questions about the breach or need help. Affected individuals can call 1-866-200-0939, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, excluding major U.S. holidays.
