Corient Services LLC, a large U.S. financial services firm, has disclosed a data breach affecting the personal information of current and former employee.
So far, 251 Texas residents, 78 Massachusetts residents and two New Hampshire residents were impacted. Corient is notifying affected individuals by email, with notifications dated May 28, 2026.
On or around March 30, 2026, a Corient employee emailed certain personal and employment information about other employees and former employees outside of the Corient environment to their own personal devices and email accounts.
The company launched an investigation with the help of outside legal counsel and forensic experts to determine the full scope of the event. In late April 2026, the investigation confirmed that the unauthorized data transfer had taken place.
The types of personal and employment information exposed in the breach included names, Social Security numbers, employee IDs, hire dates and compensation information.
Corient is offering all affected individuals two years of free credit and identity monitoring services through Experian IdentityWorks.
Individuals who received a notification letter can enroll at the Experian IdentityWorks website using the activation code included in their letter. Enrollment must be completed by Sept. 30, 2026.
Those with questions about the monitoring services or who need help with identity restoration can contact Experian's customer care team at 833-931-7577, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central Time, excluding major U.S. holidays.
For questions about the breach itself, affected individuals can reach Bridget Asekunowo, Legal Counsel at Corient, by emailing Bridget.Asekunowo@corient.com.
