Alliance College-Ready Public Schools Data Breach

If you're a current or former employee or consultant of Alliance College Ready Public Schools, or a parent or guardian of a minor associated with the organization, it's important to be aware of a recent data security incident that may have exposed personal information.

On September 16, 2023, Alliance College Ready Public Schools detected and halted unauthorized access to some of their systems. The incident was immediately addressed by engaging third-party forensic specialists to secure the network and investigate the extent of the breach. By January 23, 2024, it was determined that personal information related to employment and engagement with Alliance may have been accessed by an unauthorized party.

The types of information potentially exposed include:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver's license number
  • Medical identification number

While there is no evidence that this information has been misused, the possibility remains that it could have been accessed during the breach.

In response to the incident, Alliance College Ready Public Schools has taken several steps to prioritize data security. Law enforcement was notified, and the organization is offering free access to credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through TransUnion, a leading identity protection technology company. These services are available for twelve months and include credit monitoring and fully managed identity theft recovery services.

To take advantage of the credit monitoring services, affected individuals should visit the provided TransUnion link and use the unique code HKWA7YECFK. Enrollment must be completed within 90 days from the date of the notification letter.

Furthermore, Alliance College Ready Public Schools encourages individuals to remain vigilant by reviewing account statements and monitoring free credit reports. If you suspect any fraudulent activity, you have the right to file a police report and place a security freeze on your credit report. This can prevent credit, loans, and services from being approved in your name without consent.

For more detailed instructions and additional resources, you can refer to the full disclosure on the Massachusetts Attorney General's website.

Should you have any further questions or need assistance, a helpline is available at 1-833-961-6737, Monday through Friday, from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm PT.

By staying informed and proactive, you can help safeguard your personal information from potential misuse following this data breach. Visit the official website of Alliance College Ready Public Schools for more information about the organization and its response to the incident.
