Individuals and entities who purchased a Thinkware X700, F200PRO, DC-M2-FG-IR, DC-M2-FG or F70PRO dashcam in the United States between Jan. 25, 2019, and Aug. 31, 2024, may be eligible to submit a claim for a cash payment from a class action settlement.
Thinkware Systems USA Inc. agreed to pay $850,000 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it misrepresented and falsely advertised the super night vision feature on certain dashcam models. The plaintiff claimed Thinkware failed to disclose this feature was only available in parking mode.
Who can file a claim for a dashcam settlement payout?
Class members must meet the following criteria:
- They reside in the United States and purchased one of the qualifying Thinkware dashcam models between Jan. 25, 2019, and Aug. 31, 2024:
- X700
- F200PRO
- DC-M2-FG-IR
- DC-M2-FG
- F70PRO
- They purchased the camera for personal use and not for resale.
How much are settlement payments?
Pro rata cash payment: Class members can submit a claim to receive a pro rata cash payment from the net settlement fund. The settlement administrator will determine the final payment amount by the type and number of eligible dashcams purchased and the total number of valid claims submitted.
How to claim a class action rebate
To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print and complete the PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator.

The claim deadline is Dec. 14, 2026.
Required proof and claim information
- Class members who do not have a settlement claim ID must provide the Thinkware product purchased, quantity purchased, purchase location, approximate date of purchase and serial number associated with the dashcam.
- Any class member claiming more than one qualifying dashcam must provide proof of purchase.

Settlement fund breakdown
The $850,000 settlement fund will include:
- Settlement administration costs: Up to $100,000 (estimated)
- Attorneys’ fees: Up to $283,333.33
- Attorneys’ expenses: Up to $20,000
- Service award to class representative: Up to $10,000
- Payments to eligible claimants: Remaining settlement funds
