Thriveworks $1.9M Website Privacy Class Action Settlement

Individuals who accessed the www.thriveworks.com patient portal between April 25, 2023, and Sept. 5, 2025, may qualify to submit a claim for up to $10 from a class action settlement.

Thriveworks Administrative Services LLC and Thriveworks Inc. agreed to pay $1.9 million to settle a class action lawsuit. The plaintiffs claimed Thriveworks disclosed sensitive information and private communications from its website to Google and LinkedIn without user consent, potentially violating state and federal privacy laws.

Who can file a claim for a privacy settlement payout?

The settlement includes all Thriveworks patients residing in the United States who accessed their patient portal on thriveworks.com at anytime between April 25, 2023 and Sept. 5, 2025.

How much are settlement payments?

Cash payment: Class members can submit a claim to receive a cash payment of up to $10.

How to claim a class action rebate

To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print the PDF claim form to complete and mail to the settlement administrator.

Required proof and claim information

• All class members must provide the login ID from the settlement notice they received. Online claimants must also provide the PIN from the same notice.
• All class members must also provide proof of a Google or LinkedIn account. They should include a screenshot of a Google or LinkedIn account with a name matching the name on the claim form with the claim form.

When is the Thriveworks website privacy settlement payout date?

The settlement administrator will issue payments to approved claimants after the court grants final approval of the settlement.

Why did this class action settlement happen?

The class action lawsuit alleged Thriveworks violated the Florida Security of Communications Act and the Electronic Communications Privacy Act by sharing patient portal users’ sensitive information with Google and LinkedIn without their consent. Thriveworks denied the allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the uncertainty and cost involved in continued litigation.

As part of the settlement, Thriveworks must also review and update its website to prevent unauthorized collection of patient medical information in the future.
