
Patients of Skagit Regional Hospital who, between May 1, 2021, and Sept. 5, 2025, navigated to, signed up for, logged in to or used its patient portal may qualify to claim $20 from a class action settlement.
Skagit County Public Hospital District No. 1, doing business as Skagit Regional Hospital, agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it disclosed confidential patient information to third parties without patient consent.
Who can file a claim?
Class members are current or former patients of Skagit Regional Hospital who, between May 1, 2021, and Sept. 5, 2025, navigated to, signed up for, logged in to or used the hospital’s patient portal.
How much can class members get?
Each eligible class member who submits a valid claim form can receive a cash payment of $20.

Class members can complete the online claim form or download, print, complete and mail the PDF claim form to the settlement administrator.

What information is required to submit a claim?
Class members must provide the unique ID from the settlement notice they received. Those who did not receive a settlement notice or unique ID can email info@sutherpixelsettlement.com to verify their identity and receive an ID.
Payout options
The settlement administrator will mail paper checks to the address provided on the claim form. Checks will expire 180 days after issuance.
$400,000 settlement fund breakdown
The $400,000 settlement fund covers:
- Settlement administration costs: To be determined
- Attorneys' fees: Up to $400,000
- Service award to class representative: Up to $3,500
- Payments to eligible class members: $20 per approved claim

When is the Skagit Regional Hospital settlement payout date?
The settlement administrator will issue payments approximately 30 days after it resolves any appeals and the court grants final approval of the settlement.

The class action lawsuit alleged Skagit Regional Hospital disclosed confidential personally identifiable and protected health information to third parties without patient consent.
