Individuals who purchased a ticket from StubHub for a live event in the United States between May 12 and May 14, 2025, and paid mandatory fulfillment and service fees, may be eligible to receive a refund of those fees from an FTC settlement.
StubHub Holdings Inc. has agreed to pay $10 million to resolve allegations brought by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that it failed to clearly and conspicuously disclose the total price of live-event tickets, including all mandatory fees, in violation of federal law and the FTC’s Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees.
According to the complaint, StubHub did not comply with the FTC's ticket fee rule, which went into effect on May 12, 2025, and instead continued to fail to provide consumers on its site accurate total ticket pricing.

Why did this FTC settlement happen?
The FTC sued StubHub Holdings Inc. for allegedly failing to clearly and conspicuously disclose the total price of live-event tickets, including all mandatory fees, at the outset of the ticket-buying process. According to the FTC, StubHub’s website displayed ticket prices that did not include all mandatory fees in the initial pricing displays, which the agency said violated the FTC Act and the Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees.
The settlement also prohibits StubHub from the following:
- Displaying any goods or services price without clearly and conspicuously disclosing the total ticket price.
- Failing to disclose the total ticket price more prominently than any other pricing information.
- Failing to clearly and conspicuously disclose the amount of any fees or charges that have been excluded from the total price, what they are for, and the final payment amount, before the consumer agrees to pay for a product or service.
