Roblox Corporation has agreed to a significant class action settlement that could affect many users. If you've experienced the removal of virtual items from your Roblox account, you might be eligible for compensation.

Who Benefits? Eligible claimants are those who had a Roblox account before May 11, 2023, and had virtual items removed by Roblox moderation.

How much can I get? Compensation varies based on the Robux spent on moderated items, with options for Robux credits or cash settlements for eligible users.

Important Dates

  • Deadline to File a Claim: August 10, 2023
  • Final Approval Hearing: September 27, 2023

Who Are the Class Members in the Roblox Settlement?

Class Members include any U.S. individual with a Roblox account prior to May 11, 2023, from which content was moderated and removed. This settlement aims to compensate users for the Robux spent on these moderated items.

  • Accounts that acquired the same virtual item multiple times
  • Accounts that acquired a virtual item after it had already been moderated

If you're unsure about your eligibility or have questions about exclusions, the official settlement website provides comprehensive information.

Understanding Your Settlement Award

Class Members will receive a Robux credit proportional to the amount spent on moderated items. If your share is $10 or more, you have the option to receive a cash payment instead.

  • Robux Credit: Automatically credited to your account
  • Cash Payment: Available for claims worth $10 or more

The Subject of the Settlement

The settlement addresses the moderation (removal) of virtual items purchased with Robux on the Roblox platform without providing a refund or credit.

  • Virtual items acquired through the Roblox Avatar Shop
  • Items that were later moderated or deleted by Roblox

Is Proof Required to Claim the Reward?

No proof is required to receive the automatic Robux credit. However, to claim a cash payment, you must submit a cash claim form with a Unique Claim ID provided by Roblox.

How to Claim Your Award

To receive the automatic Robux credit, no action is required. To claim a cash payment, submit a cash claim form at Roblox Settlement Claim Form before August 10, 2023.

Eligible class members will be notified with a Unique Claim ID to estimate their share and submit a cash claim.

Analyzing the Settlement Amount

The $10 million fund will be distributed among Class Members after deducting costs, attorney fees, and a service award. The allocation formula is based on the individual Robux spent on moderated items.

Attorneys' fees are requested at up to 25% of the Settlement Fund, in addition to litigation costs and a service award for the Class Representative.

Why Is There a Class Action Settlement?

The settlement resolves a lawsuit where Roblox was accused of failing to provide refunds or credits for moderated items. This agreement avoids further litigation and provides immediate benefits to Class Members.
