Register.com $1.5 Million TCPA Class Action Settlement

Individuals who received a call from Register.com Inc. to their cellular telephone number between Feb. 12, 2021, and Nov. 24, 2025, may be eligible to claim more than $2,000 from a class action settlement.

Register.com, which merged into Network Solutions LLC in July 2025, agreed to pay $1.5 million to settle a class action lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges Register.com violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by placing calls using artificial or prerecorded voices to certain reassigned cell phone numbers without prior express consent.

Who can file a claim?

To qualify as a class member eligible to file a claim, individuals must meet all of the following criteria:

  • The person or entity received a call from Register.com Inc. (now Network Solutions LLC).
  • Register.com placed the call to a telephone number assigned to a cellular telephone service.
  • The call used an artificial or prerecorded voice.
  • Register.com placed the call between Feb. 12, 2021, and Nov. 24, 2025.
  • Register.com placed the call after the cellular telephone number was permanently disconnected and made available for reassignment as confirmed by the Federal Communications Commission’s reassigned numbers database.

Register.com identified 1,652 calls to 453 unique cell phone numbers that meet these criteria.

How much can class members get?

Pro rata payment: The total settlement fund is $1,500,000. After deductions for attorneys’ fees, litigation costs, the class representative’s incentive award and administration costs, the settlement administrator will distribute the remaining amount equally among all approved claimants.

If all 453 eligible numbers submit approved claims, each would receive about $2,130.

Class members can file a claim online or request a claim form from the settlement administrator by demonstrating proof of a cellular telephone that received an artificial or prerecorded voice call or message from the defendant between Feb. 12, 2021, and Nov. 24, 2025. The claim deadline is June 15, 2026.

Why is there a class action settlement?

The class action lawsuit alleged Register.com violated the TCPA by making calls using artificial or prerecorded voices to reassigned cell phone numbers without prior express consent. The TCPA allows for statutory damages of $500 to $1,500 per violation.

To avoid the time, risk and expense of further litigation, both sides agreed to settle.
