
People whose personal information the October 2024 data breach involving Robbie D. Wood Inc. potentially compromised may be eligible to claim up to $5,000 from a class action settlement.
Robbie D. Wood Inc. agreed to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to protect personal information during a targeted cyberattack in October 2024. The lawsuit claims unauthorized individuals accessed files containing sensitive data, such as names, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, financial account information, medical information and Social Security numbers.
Who can file a claim?
The settlement considers anyone who meets the following criteria as a class member:
- They reside in the United States.
- The data breach that Robbie D. Wood Inc. discovered in October 2024 compromised their personal information.
- They received notice of the data breach or the settlement from Robbie D. Wood Inc.
How much can class members get?
Class members may be eligible for several types of benefits, depending on their circumstances and the options they select:
- Reimbursement for documented losses: Class members who experienced actual, documented out-of-pocket losses due to the data breach that occurred between Oct. 1, 2024, and Aug. 5, 2026, can claim up to $5,000. They cannot claim reimbursement for expenses a third party already reimbursed. Eligible expenses include:
- Losses from identity theft or fraud
- Fees for credit reports, credit monitoring or freezing/unfreezing credit (incurred on or after Feb. 11, 2025)
- Costs to replace IDs
- Postage to contact banks by mail
- Accountant fees and other out-of-pocket expenses related to tax issues
- Alternative cash payment: Class members who did not incur any documented losses may opt for a one-time cash payment of $65. They do not need to provide documentation for this option but cannot claim both this payment and reimbursement for documented losses.
- Credit monitoring: All class members can enroll in two years of CyEx Medical Shield Complete. This service monitors for fraud, identity theft, unauthorized financial transactions and high-risk use of personal information. It also includes access to fraud resolution agents and $1 million in identity theft insurance.
How to claim a settlement payout
Class members can file a claim online or download and print a PDF claim form to complete and mail it to the settlement administrator.

What proof or documentation is necessary to submit a claim?
- Class members claiming reimbursement for documented losses must provide proof, such as receipts, bank statements or other documentation, showing the amount spent or lost. They may include self-prepared notes to support other documentation, but these are not sufficient on their own.
- Class members claiming the alternative cash payment or credit monitoring do not need to provide documentation but must select the appropriate option on the claim form.
- Class members filing an online claim must provide their last name and the notice ID from the settlement notice they received.

- PayPal (provide PayPal email address)
- Venmo (provide the mobile number associated with the Venmo account)
- Zelle (provide the mobile number or email address associated with the Zelle account)
- Virtual prepaid card (provide email address)
- Physical check (mailed to address provided on the claim form)
Settlement fund breakdown
The settlement fund covers:
- Settlement administration costs: To be determined
- Attorneys’ fees and costs: $125,000
- Service award to class representative: $3,000
- Payments to approved members: Dependent on number and type of claims
The settlement does not mention proration so each eligible class member can receive the full amount of their selected benefit subject to the terms of the settlement.
