Rayus Radiology $6.09 Million Patient Privacy Settlement

Patients of Rayus Radiology (including Center for Diagnostic Imaging, Insight Imaging or Diagnostic Centers of America) who had a patient portal account between Jan. 1, 2018, and Dec. 31, 2023, and visited the Rayus Radiology website during that period may be eligible to claim $25 and privacy monitoring from a class action settlement.

Diagnostic Services Holdings Inc., doing business as Rayus Radiology, agreed to pay $18,000,000 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it disclosed confidential personally identifiable information and protected health information to third-party technologies without patient consent.

Who are the class members?

Class members must meet all of the following criteria:

• They resided in the United States.
• They were a patient of Rayus Radiology or its predecessor entities, including Center for Diagnostic Imaging, Insight Imaging or Diagnostic Centers of America.
• They had a patient portal account with Rayus Radiology at any time between Jan. 1, 2018, and Dec. 31, 2023.
• They visited the Rayus Radiology website at least once during that same period.

How much is the privacy payout?

Each eligible class member who files a valid claim can receive a cash payment of $25. This amount is fixed and not subject to reduction or increase based on the number of claims submitted.

In addition to the cash payment, all class members will automatically receive a code to enroll in Privacy Shield Pro, which provides privacy protection services.

How to claim a settlement payment

Class members can complete the online claim form or download, print, complete and mail the PDF claim form to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is Jan. 29, 2026.

What do class members need to submit a claim?

To file a claim, all class members must provide the class member login ID and password from the settlement notice they received. Those who are unable to locate their ID and password should contact the settlement administrator by emailing info@RayusSettlement.com or calling 833-417-4920 and providing their full name and mailing address.

$6.09 million settlement fund breakdown

The $6,085,000 settlement fund will cover:

• Settlement administration costs: To be determined
• Attorneys' fees, costs and expenses: Up to $6,085,000
• Service awards to class representatives: $5,000 each for three representatives ($15,000 total)
• Privacy Shield Pro costs: Dependent on number of valid claims
• Payments to class members: $25 per approved claim

When is the Rayus Radiology settlement payout date?

The settlement administrator will distribute instructions for how to enroll in Privacy Shield Pro approximately 40 days after the court resolves all appeals and grants final approval to the settlement.

Why is there a class action settlement?

The class action lawsuit alleged that Rayus Radiology disclosed patients' confidential PII and PHI to third-party technologies without their consent.

Rayus Radiology denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the expense, burden and uncertainty of further litigation. The settlement allows class members to receive compensation and privacy protection benefits without the need for a trial.
