
Individuals who worked as hourly employees for Novant Health between Sept. 19, 2021, and Feb. 11, 2023, under the company's timeclock rounding policy and worked at least one workweek of 40 hours or more during that period may qualify to submit a claim for a cash payment from a class action settlement.
Novant Health Inc. agreed to pay $750,000 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it did not fully compensate some hourly employees for overtime hours due to its timeclock rounding policy. The plaintiff claimed the company violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Who can file a claim?
Class members must meet the following criteria:
- They worked for Novant Health as an hourly employee at any time between Sept. 19, 2021, and Feb. 11, 2023.
- They were subject to a timeclock rounding policy during that period.
- They worked at least one workweek of 40 hours or more during the relevant time frame.
How much are settlement payments?
Cash payment: Class members can submit a claim to receive a cash payment from the net settlement fund. The settlement administrator will determine the final payment amount by the number of weeks the class member worked during the qualifying period.

When is the Novant Health employee overtime settlement payout date?
