If you owned or purchased a Siri-enabled device and experienced an unintended Siri activation during a confidential or private conversation between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024, you may be eligible to claim up to $100 from a class action settlement.

Apple Inc. has agreed to pay $95 million to settle a class action lawsuit that alleged the company obtained and/or shared confidential or private communications as a result of unintended Siri activations.

Who is eligible to receive an Apple settlement payout?

You are a class member if:

  • You reside in the United States or its territories and are a current or former owner or purchaser of a Siri-enabled device, which includes:
    • iPhone
    • iPad
    • Apple Watch
    • MacBook
    • iMac
    • HomePod
    • iPod touch
    • Apple TV
  • You experienced an unintended Siri activation between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024.
  • The unintended Siri activation occurred during a confidential or private conversation..

How much is the Siri class action payment?

Pro Rata Cash Payment: Approved claimants will receive a payment of up to $20 per Siri device, for up to five devices. The maximum possible benefit is $100 per class member. Final amount will be determined by the number of valid claims filed and the number of devices claimed.

How to claim an Apple class action rebate

To receive a settlement payment, class members must submit a claim by the July 2, 2025 deadline. There are multiple claim filing options:

  • You can submit one of two ways through the settlement website using the online claim form.
    • Class members that received a settlement notice can submit using the Notice ID and Confirmation Code
    • Class members that did not receive a personalized settlement notice can submit online by using the New Claim link
  • You can also print and mail the PDF claim form to the settlement administrator.

  • Serial number and model name for each Siri device or
  • Proof of purchase for each device: receipt or invoice showing paid

Payout options (how the class members can get paid)

You can choose one of the following payment methods:

  • Digital payment
  • Paper check mailed to address provided on claim form
  • Direct deposit (ACH), only available for online claim submissions

$95 Million Siri class action settlement fund

The $95,000,000 million will cover the following payments:

  • Settlement administration costs: Estimated at $5,975,000
  • Attorneys' fees: Up to $28,500,000
  • Attorneys' litigation expenses: Up to $1,100,000
  • Service awards to class representatives: Up to $10,000 each
  • Payments to approved claimants: Remaining settlement funds after deductions

  • Final Approval Hearing: August 1

When is the Apple Siri settlement payout date?

The final approval hearing is scheduled for August 1, 2025. According to the settlement agreement , payments will be issued approximately 90 days after the court grants approval and any appeals are resolved.

Why is there a Siri privacy class action lawsuit and settlement?

This class action lawsuit was filed because plaintiffs alleged that Apple obtained and/or shared confidential or private communications from Siri-enabled devices as a result of unintended Siri activations, which they claimed violated consumer protection and privacy laws. Apple denied any wrongdoing, but agreed to a settlement in order to avoid the time and costs associated with a trial.
