HALO Branded Solutions, Inc. has agreed to pay to settle a class action lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges that HALO failed to adequately protect the personal information of certain current and former employees, resulting in a cyber-attack in November 2023.

  • You received a mailed notice of eligibility, or your class membership can be verified against the official list maintained by the settlement administrator.

How much is the class action settlement payment?

Class members can select from the following benefits:

  • Reimbursement for Out-of-Pocket Losses: You can submit for up to $1,000 in unreimbursed out-of-pocket losses, directly traceable to the data incident.
  • Lost Time Compensation: Class members can claim lost time spent responding to the data incident, up to five hours at a rate of $30 per hour for a total of $150.
  • Reimbursement for Extraordinary Losses: You can claim up to $5,000 per person in documented and unreimbursed losses, which were not covered by insurance.
  • California Resident Statutory Payment: Class members residing in California at the time of the data breach can submit for an additional $75 payment.
  • Credit Monitoring and Identity Theft Services: You can submit to receive two years of free identity-theft protection and three-bureau credit monitoring services, including identity restoration, and $1,000,000 in identity theft insurance with no deductible.

How to claim a data breach class action rebate

To receive a settlement, class members must submit a claim form. You can file a claim online or complete and mail the claim form included with your settlement notice to the settlement administrator. The deadline to submit your claim is June 26, 2025.

Required information and proof

  • Out-of-pocket losses: You must receipts, bank or credit card statements, and other proof showing expenses and losses.
  • Extraordinary expenses: Class members must provide supporting documentation of unreimbursed monetary losses, such as police report, proof of falsified tax returns, or invoices showing CPA or attorney services paid for.

Data breach class action settlement fund

The settlement fund will include the following:

  • Settlement administration costs: To be determined, paid for by defendant
  • Attorneys' fees and costs: Not to exceed $225,000
  • Service awards to class representatives: Up to $2,000 each, a total of $6,000
  • Credit monitoring and identity theft protection services: Cost determined by the number of claims filed
  • Payments to approved claimants: Total amount determined by number of valid claims submitted

When is the HALO data breach settlement payout date?

Payments will be issued to approved claimants approximately 60 days after final approval is granted.

Why is there a class action settlement?
