Consumers who had a Facebook account and a registered BYUtv account and watched at least one video on www.byutv.org between Nov. 12, 2022, and May 9, 2025, may qualify to claim a cash payment of approximately $6.31 from a class action settlement.

Brigham Young University, doing business as BYUtv, agreed to pay $1,250,000 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it disclosed subscribers’ personally identifiable information regarding viewed video content to Meta (formerly Facebook) via the Meta pixel without user consent. The lawsuit claimed this violated the Video Privacy Protection Act.

  • They viewed at least one video on www.byutv.org during the relevant period.
