Fujifilm Biotechnologies has reported a data breach affecting current and former employees to multiple state attorneys general offices.
The breach was disclosed to the Massachusetts Attorney General on Oct. 23, 2025, and to the Texas Attorney General on Oct. 24, 2025. According to official filings, the breach impacted at least 1,675 individuals in Texas and 34 in Massachusetts.
The company determined that sensitive personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) were exposed including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, government-issued ID numbers (such as passport or state ID card numbers), health insurance information and dates of birth.
This combination of data can be particularly valuable to identity thieves, as it covers both PII and PHI.
Following the breach, Fujifilm Biotechnologies took steps to notify all affected individuals by mail and is offering robust support to help protect against identity theft. The company is providing 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring, credit reports and credit score services through Epiq’s Privacy Solutions ID.
Services include:
To enroll in these services, affected individuals must visit the Privacy Solutions ID enrollment page and use their unique activation code provided in the mailed notice. Enrollment requires an internet connection and email account and must be completed by the deadline specified in the notice.
Given the sensitivity of the information exposed, those affected should remain vigilant by regularly reviewing account statements, monitoring credit reports and reporting any suspicious activity to financial institutions. While there is no evidence yet of misuse, the combination of PII and PHI involved means individuals should take advantage of the offered protections and consider placing a credit freeze for additional security.
