Employment seekers in Washington state who applied for a position with Belcan Engineering Group LLC or Belcan Services Group LLC between Jan. 1, 2023, and Aug. 21, 2026, may qualify to receive an estimated $1,292.77 from a class action settlement.
Belcan Engineering Group and Belcan Services Group agreed to pay up to $1.65 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging Belcan failed to include wage scales or salary ranges in job postings for open positions in Washington as required by state law.
Who can file a claim?
Class members are all individuals who applied for a job opening in the state of Washington with Belcan Engineering Group or Belcan Services Group between Jan. 1, 2023, and Aug. 21, 2026, in which the job posting for the position did not disclose the wage scale or salary range for the job.
If an individual received a notice about this settlement, it means Belcan's records show they are eligible for the settlement.
How much can class members get?
The total settlement fund is $1,650,000. After deducting attorneys' fees and costs, settlement administration costs and the service award to the class representative, the settlement administrator will divide the remaining amount equally among all class members. The estimated payment for each class member is $1,292.77, but the actual amount may vary depending on the number of valid claims submitted and final court approval.

Why did this class action settlement happen?
Belcan Engineering Group and Belcan Services Group allegedly failed to include wage scales or salary ranges in job postings for positions in Washington state, which the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities Act (RCW 49.58.110) requires. The plaintiff claimed this omission violated state law.
Belcan denied any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the uncertainty and expense of continued litigation.
