Who are the class members?
Class members must meet all of the following criteria:
- They applied for a job opening with LZB Retail Inc. in the state of Washington.
- They submitted the application between Jan. 1, 2023, and Oct. 8, 2025.
- The job posting for the position did not disclose a wage scale or salary range.
The settlement administrator used company records to identify eligible class members and sent notices to those it determined to be part of the settlement class. There are approximately 277 class members.
How much can class members get?
Each eligible class member who does not exclude themselves from the settlement is entitled to an equal share of the settlement fund minus attorneys’ fees, costs and a service award for the plaintiff.. The estimated payment per class member is $748.42.
The settlement payment is characterized as non-wage damages and will be reported on a 1099 tax form.
No action needed to receive payment
Class members do not need to file a claim to receive payment. The settlement administrator will automatically mail payments after it resolves any appeals and the court grants the final approval to the settlement.
If a class member did not receive a settlement notice, they should contact the settlement administrator. Those who need to update their address can download, print and complete the address form and mail it to the settlement administrator.

Payout options
The settlement administrator will mail paper checks to the address on file for each class member. They must cash the check within 180 days of issuance or it will become void.
$360,100 settlement fund breakdown
The $360,100 settlement fund includes:
- Settlement administration costs: To be determined
- Attorneys' fees: $120,033.33
- Attorneys' expenses: $5,000
- Service award to class representative: $15,000
- Payments to class members: $220,066.67 (estimated)
If the total number of settlement class members increases beyond 277, La-Z-Boy will increase the settlement fund by $1,300 for each additional settlement class member.

When is the LZB Retail Inc. class action settlement payout date?
