Ciuni & Panichi Inc. agreed to pay $592,500 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to implement and maintain reasonable security measures to protect personally identifiable information, which unauthorized individuals accessed during the cybersecurity incident. The breach exposed names, Social Security numbers and dates of birth belonging to more than 25,000 people.
Who can file a claim for a data breach payout?
Class members are individuals who received a data breach notice from Ciuni & Panichi indicating the November 2024 data breach may have compromised their private information.
How much are settlement payments?
Class members can claim one or both of the following
- Out-of-pocket losses: Class members can claim up to $5,000 for documented losses traceable to the data breach. This includes monetary losses due to fraud or identity theft, professional fees, credit monitoring, credit freeze costs and other expenses incurred in or after November 2024.
- Cash payment: All class members can submit a claim to receive a pro rata cash payment estimated at $125. The settlement administrator will determine the final payment amount by the total number of claims filed.
How to claim a class action rebate
To claim a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print the PDF claim form to complete and mail to the settlement administrator.

Required proof and claim information
- All class members must provide the login ID from the settlement notice they received. Online claimants must also provide the PIN from the same notice.
- Out-of-pocket loss claims require supporting documentation, which may include receipts, invoices, bank or credit card statements showing unreimbursed fees or fraudulent charges and other proof of fraud or identity theft.

Settlement fund breakdown

When is the Ciuni & Panichi data breach settlement payout date?
