Individuals who received more than one text message from BuyAlerts between Jan. 1, 2022, and Aug. 7, 2026, after opting out or while the National Do Not Call Registry listed their number may be eligible to claim up to $42.16 from a class action settlement.
Live Stream Technology Services Inc., d/b/a BuyAlerts, agreed to pay up to $3.6 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it sent unwanted text messages to consumers after they opted out or while the National Do Not Call Registry listed the their numbers. This conduct reportedly violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and Florida Telephone Solicitation Act.
Who can file a claim?
There are three settlement classes that may be eligible for compensation. These classes are based on the type of alleged violation and the recipient’s location:
- TCPA “stop” class: All individuals in the United States who, between Jan. 1, 2022, and Aug. 7, 2026, received more than one text message from BuyAlerts within any 12-month period about BuyAlerts’ products or services after replying to a message with “stop” or a similar opt-out instruction
- FTSA “stop” class: All individuals in Florida who, during the same period, received more than one text message from BuyAlerts about BuyAlerts’ products or services after texting “stop” at least 15 days before receiving the subsequent message
- TCPA “DNC” class: All individuals in the United States who, between Jan. 1, 2022, and Aug. 7, 2026, received more than one text message from BuyAlerts within any 12-month period for the purpose of selling BuyAlerts’ products or service, whose number the National Do Not Call Registry listed for at least 30 days and for whom BuyAlerts did not have proper prior express written consent
How much can class members get?
Each eligible class member who submits a valid claim form may receive up to $42.16. The actual payment amount may be less, depending on the total number of valid claims submitted and the deductions for attorneys’ fees, administrative costs and service awards. If the total number of valid claims plus expenses exceeds the $3.6 million settlement fund, the administrator will reduce each class member’s payment proportionally.
How to claim a class action payment
To receive a payment, class members must submit an online claim form or print and complete the PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator.

The deadline to file a claim is Feb. 16, 2027.
Required proof/documentation
- Claimants must attest under penalty of perjury that they are the current or former subscriber or authorized user for the phone number(s) listed and that they received more than one text message from BuyAlerts after opting out or while on the National Do Not Call Registry.
- Claimants must supply the unique ID they received in their settlement notice.

$3.6 million settlement fund breakdown
The $3,600,000 million settlement includes:
- Settlement administration costs: Up to $120,000
- Attorneys’ fees and expenses: Up to $1,199,880
- Service award to class representatives: Up to $5,000 ($10,000 total)
- Payments to eligible class members: Remainder of the settlement fund

When is the BuyAlerts settlement payout date?
The settlement administrator will distribute payments to eligible class members after the court resolves any appeals and grants final approval of the settlement.
Why did this class action settlement happen?
The class action lawsuit alleged BuyAlerts sent marketing text messages to consumers after they opted out or while the National Do Not Call Registry listed their phone numbers in violation of the TCPA and FTSA.
BuyAlerts denied any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the costs and risks of continued litigation.
